Good Days

In the words of John Gierach, fellow Coloradan, writer and fly-fisher, “There’s…something about spending entire days without conversation – not counting the internal dialog we carry on with ourselves through all but the most enlightened hours of every day. Eventually I begin to realize that too many of the words I speak are just noise designed to fill an awkward vacuum.”

  1. I can so relate to this insight…after hiking for 52 days alone, I, who love to talk, did come to realize exactly that—our words to others are so often only spoken to fill a void.

  2. Our body language and frequency can speak louder then all the words we utter, and tell the truth about us without the fluff of speech.
