This early morning photo was shot on the deck of Barb Brattin’s mountain retreat with abundant beauty surrounding us. Barb has been the Director of the public library in Telluride – Wilkinson Public Library for the last 7 years. Her innovative ideas and willingness to take risks helped to bring 400 people to Telluride last September for R-Squared – The Risk and Reward Conference, supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Gale Cengage. Barb is also a novelist working on her 5th book.
Barb shares her place with two dogs – Phiney and Tank – and two cats including Garfield who was perhaps the most loving cat I have ever met. We watched the sunset go down over the Wilson Range with deep green sage surrounding us everywhere. In all my travels there’s nothing more spectacular than the Telluride area. Thanks Barb for putting me up.
