First time fly-fishing, first fish! Who does this happen to? My sister, Susan Packard. Susan lives and works in Park City, Utah, and is the owner of Park City Signs with her husband, Jeff. Both Susan and Jeff are athletes having skied, biked, and hiked since residing in Park City over 35 years ago.
Susan and Jeff have put me up for two weeks while I fished the northern rivers of Utah and I convinced Susan to try fly-fishing with me on the Strawberry River.
Not only did she learn how to do a roll cast within the first five minutes that she was on the water (I still have trouble), she caught not one but two browns over 20 inches! I think our guide, Jeremy Allan, and I got her hooked.
